Rachel Beenken is an illustration major studying at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She loves creating art that tells a story, as well as character centric pieces. While she has mostly used traditional materials in the past, she is excited to explore the many opportunities that digital mediums present.
Prior to arriving at MCAD, Rachel attended the University of Denver for a year as an art major. While she enjoyed her classes in the Honor's program, she ultimately decided to transfer to pursue a more intense art education. So far she is enjoying MCAD immensely, however she does occasionally miss the inter mural broomball games at DU for which her team had affectionately nicknamed her "Gandalf."
When she is not in class or working on some art project or another, she can be usually be seen with her friends at one of MCAD's many student organizations or else buried in the pages of a book.
Rachel prides herself on being a "geek" and enjoys cosplay, creating fan art, and analyzing works of fiction.
